Welcome .

You've come to a good place. We may not always respond as quick as you might

Hi, my name is . I am a new member and very, very new to

understanding my thyroid. 3 weeks ago I did not even know what my

thyroid did! I went to a vascular surgeon about vericose veins.

While going thru my medical history, he asked how long I had had my

goiter. I did not even know what a goiter was. I went to my PCP and

he ordered blood tests and a sono. The blood test came back

with " very little thyroid function " (I do not have exact numbers) and

I am expecting the sono results on Monday.

In the little research that I have done, I realize that I am very

overwhelmed of what I need to know. I would LOVE to hear advice from

others to help me from making any mistakes. When do you use an

endocrinologist vs. primary care dr? What questions do I need to

ask? What tests do I have to have?

Please feel free to help!!!

Thanks!

PS...I live in the Flower Mound area. I have been very lucky to

moved to a very involved neighborhood that sent me to this group

(thank you Penny!).

Newbie popping in here. I

have an appt with on Tuesday.

When I told my primary doc who I was going to see, he was very happy

and sang high praises for Dr. .

My primary is Dr. Craig Henry in Arlington by the way.

Hi, I am Barb just joined. I am 54 and a letter carrier. Had a blood test that show that my tsh was so low it could not be calculated. both my T's are fine. Family Doc had me do a thyroid sonogram and they found several large nodules and small ones too numerous to count. Makes me feel great knowing that. Set up an appointment with an endo/Doc in a week and half. Has any one heard of dr. johnson in grand prairie off of oslo dr.? My family Doc took off for vacation and did not explain anything. Great to be able to read everyones ideas. Barb
