wow...this headline and comments by the doctor are just unbelievable!

My Canadian friends are desperately hoping we never go to universal health care. If we do, they won't have any place to go!

I am so sorry to hear about your experience. I have heard these

same horror stories about Canada's socialized medicine for years.

We have to thank God that we don't have " universal Health care "

because that is what Canada has. hopefully it will never pass in

the states or the quality and the access will change drastically.

could be seen. We also were told by my insurance company to make

sure they put the bill in US dollars and the clerk said she would do

that. She didn't.

be broken so we want another x-ray. She also said that they would

bring her some tylenol since she must be in lots of pain, which she

young and the elderly.

Shari - another thing we have in common! :-)I broke my elbow on Valentine's Day this year - initially the hospital, here in the states no universal health care (goes to show it isn't always due to that) said it wasn't broken. Because I did it at work, Workman's Comp required me to return after a week. Since the swelling was worse and I still couldn't move it, they did a 2nd x-ray and this time the doc said it was definately broken (said he wasn't sure why the first doc missed it)! So I went for a week with a broken elbow, no pain meds, no cast (they never did cast it - said it just sling it if it hurt too bad!) Thank God I have a high threshold for pain. Elbow still hurts, can't completely straighten it and probably never will. That was with insurance and in the states. T.Fort Wayne, IN , that is horrible! How is your daughter now? Poor baby! I broke my elbow several years ago - I KNOW how bad that hurts!! I am so sorry for you! I have a Canadian friend who would have died from a brain tumor had she not come to the US for treatment. Canada's waiting time for MRIs and later for surgery was so far out, she would not have survived that long. Those 'mistakes' really both me (ins or not) because our kids have a high pain tolerance and we do our best to keep them well. It doesn't make me feel very confident when I think about drs mis-diagnosing them.

not too bad - we are FINALLY getting some rain! We have been very dry this summer (my grass was the same color as the dirt) and it is a nice slow soft rain!! I can almost hear the grass sigh!!Plus it is Friday and I don't have to work this weekend so my work week is over!!  I read that.....I was just realizing 'what if' about my son.
