Guest guest
Daily Wish My daily wish is that we maySee good in those who pass our way; Find in each a worthy traitThat we shall gladly cultivate; See in each one passing byThe better things that beautify A softly spoken word of cheer,A kindly face, a smile sincere. I pray each day that we may viewThe things that warm one's heart anew; The kindly deed that can't be boughtThat only from good are wrought, A burden lightened here and there,A brother lifted from despair, The aged ones freed from distress; The lame, the sick, brought happiness. Grant that before each sun has setWe'll witness deeds we can't forget; A soothing hand to one in pain,A sacrifice for love - not gain; A word to ease the troubled mindOf one whom fate has dealt unkind. So, friend, my wish is that we maySee good in all who pass our way. Phil Perkins Most of us are never happier than when the conversationhas turned away from others and toward ourselves. Whenpeople talk to us about our lives, our family, ourachievements or our goals, we subconsciously feel we mustbe worthy of attention. Our confidence rises; we feelenergized, cared about and uplifted. Deep inside we're alittle proud that we have become the center of attention. Now think about how little it would take from you to createall those positive feelings in others! A few questions, a focused ear, and genuine interest in what you are hearing, and you too can pass on the gift of caring and confidence to a friend, a neighbor or a familymember. Imagine the warm fuzzies we could create if we all did this today. Let's all try it! Immaturity is thinking that you have all the answers. Wisdom is knowing that you don't. Weakness is wanting to control everything around you. Strength is gracefully accepting and valuing what is. Insecurity is the constant, gnawing desire to have more and more. Confidence is knowing that you already are enough. Failure is thinking that you can advance yourself by pushing others down. Success is understanding that the more you lift others up, the more you'll be lifted yourself. Despair is committing yourself to shallow, superficial things that too soon will wither and die. Joy is filling your world and your life with the things that truly matter. Every moment, you are fully capable of living with wisdom, strength, confidence, success and joy. It's not a matter of chance, but always a matter of choice. And you can make the choices now that will surely take you there.
