Grace,

I just saw Dr Owens on Monday. My personal experience has been that

she really listens to you. She will want to know - i'm sure - about

your previous armour experience.

I believe we had talked a few weeks ago about Adrenals.. She will most

likely test for those also. She also tests B vitamins and Ferritin.

I just really like her.. and I feel better since I have been seeing

her.

Let us know how it goes!

Kim

I wanted to add that my thyroid has also

been feeling tender and sore and like it is pushing into my throat more than

normal. Sheesh…I’ve been diagnosed hypo for 16 years and I’ve

never had so much trouble. (At least it feels that way now.) I wonder why

the change.

Synthroid/Cytomel

Does anyone know if Dr. Owens will consider

this combo? I have a scheduled appt with her for next week. I could

ask Dr. DeVries again. I know he does it sometimes, but he seems a bit reluctant

so far.

I am noticing the higher my synthroid dosage

goes (at 100 mcg right now) the more confused and fuzzy-headed I become.

I suspect that T3 would help immensely. I am not sure, however, if I want

to try Armour again. I can still remember that smell, LOL.

Is there an obvious reason that higher T4

would make my head feel cloudier? Could it just be an adjustment

reaction? There have also been a couple of nights in the last week where

I was freezing at night and had to get another blanket just to be able to

sleep. Odd reactions to more thyroid hormone. I’m also

feeling very uptight and snippy again. Would these things be more related

to adrenal issues? I also just started the D3 and not sure if I should

notice anything from that.

Thanks,

Grace

p.s. B., thank you for the enterolab

link! We have tried unsuccessfully to have my 4 yo blood tested for

gluten sensitivities. A stool sample will be soooo much easier, and to

know it’s more accurate, to boot!

I saw Dr DeVries today and he agreed that I

likely need the T3. He wrote me a script for T3. I am so excited

that I might actually find balance! This will be the first time I’ve

taken T4 & T3. I’ve posted before that Armour wasn’t

enough T4 for me.

I will still see Dr. Owens to see if she

will test adrenals. I’ve had ferritin, B12, vit D and calcium

checked already, but don’t want to miss anything. Will be nice to

know where my adrenals are functioning.
