Traditional Foods to Relieve Pediatric Constipation?

My two-year-old daughter is suffering from severe constipation. When

she " goes " it hurts so she has decided NOT to go, which of course

makes the problem even worse. The pediatrician prescribed

Milk of Magnesia which has not been working and I am worried that it

may do her more harm than good.

She is a very picky eater at present and the only thing I can be sure

she will eat consistently is kefir smoothies. I've been tossing lots

of blueberries in, but they aren't making a difference. I feel so bad

for her and I'm getting panicky!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can throw in the kefir

smoothies to help her?

Thank you!!
