Guest guest
It looks like I will have venison bones from six deer this year. All are spoken for, except I promised a few bones to Kimi. I don't hunt myself, I asked people who hunt to help me out with bones they don't use. Most people who hunt don't think of what to do with the bones. My neighbor delivered one set of venison bones last weekend, minus the brain and spinal column, asked me what I did with them. He " got it " right away when I talked about my granny boiling chicken bones for good stock. His granny did the same with both venison and chicken bones, now he's going to talk to his wife about venison stock. I may get less next year. Remember to ask people who hunt about what they do with the bones every year. The bones make fantastic broth, soups, gravy. I'm also an animal lover, like to see that most parts of an animal who gave it's life is used to sustain another life, not wasted.
