Adrenals vs. Thyroid

Please excuse me if this has been addressed recently.

My question is if there are both hypothyroid and adrenal issues, should

the adrenals be addressed first along with menopause, wait 3 months,

retest and then see if the thyroid needs to be supported with meds?

I'm hypo along with my 13 year old son. I noticed some similar symptoms

in my mom and encouraged her to see a thyroid doc. She lives in FL and

I found a dr. for her through the Fl thyroid group. She had labs,

saliva tests, etc.

She had her follow up appt. today and the doc wants to treat the

adrenals with DHEA and some Adrenal something (both from a compounding

pharmacy)and treat her menopause. These were the only 2 meds prescribed.

Thanks in advance,

Tina

,

Thanks so much for your reply.

I just wanted to make sure. My brain fog is so bad today, I couldn't

remember which was supposed to come first, the thyroid or the

adrenals. I know everyone and every doc is different but I just

needed some reassurance.

Thanks,

Tina

be addressed/treated so that the body will tolerate thyroid medication

better. My DH had to be on DHEA for a few months before he could

tolerate even a 1/2 grain (30mg) of Armour. So to answer your

question, yes that does sound normal to start that way.
