Hello to all members. I have a 3 y/o grandson living in Katy, TX named

who was recently (and finally after almost a year's wait !!) dx mildly autistic

by the Meyer Clinic. He is enrolled in ECEC in Katy & attends Cimmaron School 3

hrs. daily for more individualized instruction per the eval by KISD. He is NOT

getting the Speech Therapy promised by the school system. In 10 wks he has been

seen by the ST 3 times. Prior to turning 3 y/o he was seen by ECI. My daughter

is now starting this long journey of red tape as many of you are familiar with

yourselves.

My question to the list is, are any of you able to recommend a Speech and/or

Behavioral Therapist preferably on the west side of Houston or in Katy?? He

needs both per the clinic's eval. My daughter is a single parent working full

time and when she contacted the " advocate " (phone # given to her by the Meyer

Clinic) she was told that she (the advocate) could not make recommendations or

provide a list as she was part of the school system. First dead end, and one of

many to come I am sure.

Other than her pediatrician, does anyone have suggestions? did not

start talking until approximately 18 mons. and does have limited vocabulary much

of which is not understandable. He does put 2 or 3 words together infrequently

which often is understandable. The clinic stated he is at about a 2 y/o level.

He has the Bumble Bee series of DVDs.

Any help, suggestions, recommendations or guidance would be greatly

appreciated.
