Guest guest
Maurice and all- BTW, thank you very much for the info Maurice, I did e-mail them as you suggested and below is what I've received. I did not get any info on the ingredients so I sent yet another e-mail 2 days ago, however I hove not heard from them yet. If anyone else here finds out about the ingredients, please keep me posted. One more question - I know that New Zealand may have different laws on cosmetic ingredients, so my question is for US only. Are manufacturers of emulsifiers, preservatives etc. in the US required to supply customers w/ ingredient info, not formula, just ingredients? Thanks again... Be well, Sevi ------------- DispersaWax Nonionic Emulsifying Wax Thixotropic! ...........DispersaWAX makes creams that set up firm in the jar, yet are wonderfully soft and smooth to the touch, and spread easily on the skin without drag or stickiness. DispersaWAX is an extremely powerful emulsifier, with a 30% active emulsifier content. Where a safe, nonionic emulsifier is required DispersaWAX is the emulsifier of choice - since February 1950. USES: Making pharmaceutical, cosmetic and veterinary emulsions where wide compatibility is required: producing creams and lotions with cosmetic elegance and feel. For external use only. EMULSION TYPE: O/W (oil in water) H.L.B. 9 These emulsions can be readily removed from the skin by normal washing with soap and water. Creams made with DispersaWAX are notably thixotropic; i.e. they soften on stirring and firm up again on standing undisturbed. These thixotropic creams are remarkable for their ease of application, and for their soft velvety feel on the skin. HOW TO USE: DispersaWAX is formulated primarily to emulsify mineral oils, and therefore produces good emulsions from simple mixtures of DispersaWAX, mineral oil and water. Preservation is necessary. We recommend potassium sorbate 0.2% plus methyl p-hydroxybenzoate 0.1% plus p-hydroxybenzoate 0.01% w/w. Do not overheat DispersaWAX, maximum temperature 75 deg C. Illustrative formulae are based on a cosmetic grade mineral oil S/G 0.840 and paraffin wax MP 60 deg C. MINIMUM ORDER: 100 kg. Price Ex Factory US$5.00 per kg. Guest guest
Here is more detail on Dispersa. Hope this helps.. Sevi ------ 1.. The DispersaWAX is a solid emulsifier at normal room temperatures 20 deg to 30 deg C so is excellent in creams etc. However, as it is solid it cannot be used in sprays as it would solidify the aerosol components. 2... The raw materials in DispersaWAX are:- Cetostearyl alcohol Paraffin Wax Mineral oil Nonionic emulsifiers A typical formulation and manufacture is:- DispersaWAX 20%, Mineral oil 30%, Water preserved 50% - firm white cream DispersaWAX 20%, Mineral oil 20%, Water preserved 60% - very thixotropic, but firms on standing. DispersaWAX 20%, Mineral oil 10%, Water preserved 70% - excellent ointment base. Dissolve the DispersaWAX and other waxes and oil soluble ingredients in the oils with gentle heat and bring to 60 deg C then slowly add aqueous phase at 65 deg C to the oil phase with thorough stirring. Stir frequently until cool enough to pack. Perfume can be added at around 45 deg C. Softer creams can be stirred again next day before packing. Perfumes can be supplied with DispersaWAX by associate company Flairoma Ltd for all types of fragrance requirements.
