Guest guest
Rock again! We got the truck unloaded in great time yesterday. It was monumental but fun. It was REBEKAH, COLLEEN, BRIAN, RAE LYNN (and son DREW), JUDY and ME! The warehouse doesn't look as cavernous now! It's filling up. DR CARRIE will be getting two worthy candidates for the free massages she's donated! She's also donating a prize for our loyal and food-loving truck driver LOWELL! Now the REAL FUN begins, and I'm serious, we are primping and pampering the space, getting her clean and purdy for our opening splash coming up in a little over a week. HERE'S THE SCHEDULE FOR THE NEW WAREHOUSE: 1) SEPT 1ST,. which happens to be Labor Day, was our announced opening but there won't be much going on. We will be pretty ready, cleaned up with some frozen and dry goods being added. Since most people have Labor Day plans, however, I'm pretty sure we won't have hours that day. 2) SEPT 2ND-4TH We will be bringing in lots of FOOD~ We plan to have quite a selection of items to give people an idea of what it's all going to look like. 3) SEPT 5TH A little bit of a grand opening. We will be selling hot brats, and other good food, giving tours of the warehouse, signing up memberships and selling product for the first time. MORE DETAILS TO FOLLOW! WHAT WE CAN SEE FOR THE WAREHOUSE 1) Primarily a " buying club " in a coop format 2) Sales to members only 3) Not open to the public (but you can get 1 day memberships) 4) All the farmers and vendors will be members 5) At least 5 local dairies will be represented 6) We will continue to sell the good pork 7) We now have the opportunity to make MANY more good food available. 8) Some vendors are renting space IN the warehouse and will make products there. 9) We will EVENTUALLY have a commercial kitchen going on site. 10) There is nothing like this anywhere in the area. ***Let us know if you want to be a vendor or want us to carry something*** Watch the developments at www.traditionalfoodsmn.com Will Alan Becca
Guest guest
Will and the other super stars, I can not tell you how excited I am to hear this! It would make things so much easier for me and many others! Since you asked for requests, I have a few. I would like to request: Organic duck and chicken eggs Organic raw goat milk/products in addition to cow Organic Lard Organic meats (cow, poultry, pork, bison etc.) It would be so nice to not have to compromise my standards or run from farmer to farmer while still trying to fit in preschool and naps for 3 kids. Where is the warehouse? I erased the requests for movers. Any sneak peaks at membership pricing and the like or do I need to stay tuned to the website? Thanks!!!!! ~
Guest guest
On the note of food requests for the warehouse- I am also getting discouraged with how hard it is to find quality healthy breads or bread products out there... ones that don't have tons of preservatives in them and fillers. I am not much of a baker myself (would love to learn- but can't drive to Elk River for a class unfortunately) Could I request products like this to be at the warehouse? Do we have a source for people who bake and are willing to share their knowledge/expertise/product? Meg
