Guest guest
Daily Wish My daily wish is that we maySee good in those who pass our way; Find in each a worthy traitThat we shall gladly cultivate; See in each one passing byThe better things that beautify A softly spoken word of cheer,A kindly face, a smile sincere. I pray each day that we may viewThe things that warm one's heart anew; The kindly deed that can't be boughtThat only from good are wrought, A burden lightened here and there,A brother lifted from despair, The aged ones freed from distress; The lame, the sick, brought happiness. Grant that before each sun has setWe'll witness deeds we can't forget; A soothing hand to one in pain,A sacrifice for love - not gain; A word to ease the troubled mindOf one whom fate has dealt unkind. So, friend, my wish is that we maySee good in all who pass our way. Phil Perkins Imagine if a blade of grass decided it had hadenough. It was done with having it's head snipped offevery weekend and its seeds-its future-cut off intheir prime. Who would blame it. Yet what does that old blade of grass do? It doesn't say; " I give up! I'm getting nowhere!" It just keepson growing. In continually takes in the energy fromthe sunlight and magically converts carbon dioxidefrom the air into food to make more leaves and moreseeds. A blade of grass is resilient. You too, can learn to be as resilient as the grass. Youmay be cut down on a regular basis, yet your strength is in standing up, dusting yourself off, andstarting all over again, Even when grass is covered in concrete, it finds a way to grow up through the cracks. And so must you. Take a "leaf" out of the grass book. Connect with your own resilience and keep on growing. Your ego is ever anxious to react to whatever comes your way. Yet there is always a much more powerful and effective course of action. Instead of responding with your ego, respond to life with your heart. Instead of allowing your actions to be driven by petty, superficial concerns, let those actions come from the center of your being. Supporting the demands of your ego can quickly use up all your energy, time and resources. In contrast, listening to and living out the yearnings of your true self will bring your life an ever-increasing abundance. Ego will entice you with the promise of pleasure but will always end up robbing you of real joy. Ego gives you only a hollow image that can all too easily be shattered into nothing. The more you tune out the noisy ranting of your ego, the more you'll touch the deep and awesome value of your true self. The more completely you leave your ego behind, the more power your efforts will have. Respond with your heart. And live true to the unique, authentic and valuable person you are.
