Guest guest
Grace, I can tell you that one of my Hashi's daughters had it ALL the time, when she was in her early to late 20s or so. She is one who does well on T4 alone (at least at this point in time). When her T4 was increased much more, somewhere in her early 30s, the carpal tunnel went completely away and hasn't ever come back. She is now 38 yrs old. She had to wear one of those long funny splints to bed every night, it was so bad. Re: Re: Tingling in left pinky?? That sounds like Carpel-Tunnel stuff to me. That network of nerves, tendons, etc....that runs through the set of wrist bones, from that "circle", enlarges in long ongoing hypothyroidism, causing the nerves to basically strangulate. Guest guest
,Thank you for your reply! That is encouraging. I used to have trouble with my wrists when I was in my early 20s and had a keyboard intensive job. Now I have trouble in only one, which is aggravated partially by computer use and partially by holding a growing toddler a lot of the time. Also things like using a screwdriver really irritate it. I am encouraged by your story that it will likely go away once I find a doc who will get my thyroid where it needs to be. I have worn splints and ice packs, too. It went away once, so I'll go on the assumption it will go away again. :)Thanks,Grace Re: [Texas_Thyroid_ Groups] Re: Tingling in left pinky?? That sounds like Carpel-Tunnel stuff to me.
