Guest guest
Hi...I had my ultra sounds today. The tech had to get someone more experienced to help her which rattled me a bit. But both ladies were kind and respecful. Hopeully my lonely 1 ovary is doing ok and the fibroid situation isn't any worse. It was a little scary and they had to do both types of pelvic ultra sounds...I tried to concentrate on singing a little chorus to the Lord & breathing. Funny how you find yourself not breathing in scary situations. Then I went across the hall to the Breast Center and found out I was almost 2 months too early. Insurance covers 1 per year unless there is a problem. So I go back in October. How does that song go... " I ENJOY being a girl!!! " Yikes. Love & Hugs... Guest guest
Tess - Hope ultra sound went well.Had same thing done with mammogram - go back end of Sept.. If they mention taking out fibroids...even if means hysterectomy, I speak from experience....it maybe a good thing. I had horrible anemia...hemoglobin was very low. I am happy to report a little over a year and a half later...the hemoglobin is better than normal. Now if we could rid of this awful fatigue and swelling...can 't have everything. Guest guest
Dear Tess...Since I had my hysterectomy I miss all of those wonderful things you got to do! Yeah, right. I think the day I had it was one of the best days of my life. The pain was all gone and I had such a absence of pressure with a totally light feeling. Not having to mess with all of that has been great. I had a total but my sister was able to have her uterus removed through tiny incisions and her recovery time was a couple of weeks versus my eight weeks. Wish I could have done it that way. My other sister needs one but is so stubborn that she would rather suffer two weeks out of every month. My mother had one after 5 kids when she was 30. You are not going to believe this but the dr would not do it without permission from my father and my mother had to have permission from the bishop (maybe that is one of the reasons why I am no longer Catholic). She needed it done after 3 children and being carried into the ER several times hemmoraging but the dr thought she was too young. Thank God things have changed! Let us know what your test results show. Hugs, Iris. --- Tess_St_Pierre@... wrote: > Hi...I had my ultra sounds today. Guest guest
I had a full hyst about 10 years ago..my gyn told me to have a pelvic every 5 years unless I had a problem come up...the gp tells me I still need an exam every year....what could they be checking...it's all gone now? Do you know what is recommended? I was told every 2 years after 40 so is it every 1,2 or 5 years? " Yikes. > > Love & Hugs... > > Tess Hi Tess, glad the ultrasound went ok. Don't you just love it when they tell you to " relax? " I mean, how can you relax when you're strung up like a turkey ready to bake? I had a pelvic US last year, and the tech answered a personal phone call while leaving the device in a very uncomfortable position--in me! Just remember, though, if you weren't a girl, you'd have to have a prostate test every year! (Ron says he usually gets some cute chick to do it instead of the doctor. I think he's putting me on.) Too bad guys can't have a " Man-o-gram " --wonder how they'd like having a delicate object mashed? Rest up today, God bless, Judi
Guest guest
Marge...I don't know the answer to that but I would like to know.
