intensive care unit (NICU) when they were administered the Hep shot!

Can I speak up for the parents here? I consider myself very well educated,

but I didn't realize the mess with the immunizations when I got

vaccinated back in 1995-1996. I was told the side effects, which seemed like a

reasonable amount of side effects, just like a drug from any pharmaceutical

company was, and I thought I was giving informed consent. But I was not

because

they weren't telling me all the ingredients in the shots. Their child is

older, too. The issue here is the informed consent part. When parents aren't

being given truly informed consent, which includes all the possibly filler

ingredients in vaccinations and their potential short-term and long-term risks,

you aren't giving informed consent and that is the problem. As the saying

goes, if I knew then what I know now....

A lot of people weren't even getting on the internet back in 1995-1996 (I

just started in 1997) and there were very few resources available. So you

trusted that your doctor was telling you everything and you based your decision

based on that information. And remember at that time there was just 1 in

every 10,000 children with autism. So please cut these parents some slack.
