Hello Trad Fooders, - MERRY CHRISTMAS & HNY-

The shipment of grapefruit, oranges and lemons is in town and

currently stored in the milk cooler at the TFMN Warehouse. We did

receive more grapefruit and less oranges than was ordered, so if you

can wait on part of your orange order, please share the balance so

that all who ordered- will get at least a taste of this great, fresh

fruit from a very sustainable farm in south Texas. If you did NOT get

in on this order, please wait until the smoke clears to check on what

may be left. If I can, I'd have some available to sample- Red Rio

Grapefruit @ $1.25 each, Hamlin Oranges and Meyers Lemons @ 50 cents

each. Please thank the guys and gals at the TFMN Warehouse for all of

the extra effort they put into making this available to all of you.

Barb, Will and Becca were all very helpful (they've been doctoring me

to get over a cold).

Here is a rundown of my week (so far) and the affect on this

project. The MN cold winter weather was a factor in all of this.

First, the delivery into the Twin Cities was delayed due to the

weather on Monday. Then, my Tuesday delivery schedule was abruptly

changed when my diesel rig wouldn't run due to the severe change to

subzero temps. I spent all of Tuesday building an insulated " hot box "

inside my big barn- to enable a 60 degree roasting of the delivery

truck to thaw the fuel system. It took me all day (I had some help) to

build the enclosure and then only 3 hrs to " cook " the truck to the

point of being operational again. It was running by midnight-

Wednesday AM. It ran fine for the 500- 600 miles of route on Wednesday

and Thursday. I hope you enjoy the fruit. It is the best grapefruit

I've had in 51 years..

If you want some of this stuff, we're trying to plan some inventory

for the Warehouse in '09. We will order again for the middle of

January and have smaller amounts available at great savings over Whole

Foods pricing. 40# Cases of Red Rio Grapefruit (40 ct) go for $45. 40#

Cases of Hamlin or Marrs Oranges (64 to 72 ct) go for $40 and Meyers

Lemons (as long as they last) are $42 for 20# (75 or 95 ct). Thanks

for your support of farm-direct, sustainable & healthy food. Alvin
