Guest guest
Were the adrenal issues diagnosed with blood work or saliva? I’m a bit unclear about the diagnosis and different levels of exhaustion vs. fatigue, etc. From: Texas_Thyroid_Groups [mailto:Texas_Thyroid_Groups ] On Behalf Of Kim in No Texas Sent: Monday, July 07, 2008 10:29 PM To: Texas_Thyroid_Groups Subject: RE: Question for those that had thyroid problems.. and adrenal issues.. I had to stop Armour all together until I had adrenal support. I became very intolerant to it. I could not even take ½ a grain without having hyper symptoms. At one point, I wondered if I should call the paramedics because my heart was beating so hard it hurt. My ferritin was also very, very low. I worked on that while I was waiting to get into Dr R for the adrenal issues. I'm guessing that similar to me, you were first diagnosed as having thyroid problems.. started taking thyroid meds... and had some type of problem.. then got the adrenal problem diagnosis.. once you had started adrenal meds, did you find that you had to later increase your thyroid meds? I know that some of you have talked about backing down from thyroid meds in order to get adrenals under control.. in your experience, how low did you have to drop your thyroid meds? Thanks in advance for your responses!!!
Guest guest
Kate, My DHEA is below range 432 with the normal low end at 446. Can someone tell me if there is a doctor close to Flower Mound or on the west side of DFW that recognizes and treats Adrenal F? My family doctor totally supports Armour for thyroid but does not recognize AF. I have an appointment with Sullivan tomorrow to have him look at my female hormones, will he address AF too? Thanks in advance, Penny From: Texas_Thyroid_Groups [mailto:Texas_Thyroid_Groups ] On Behalf Of Kate Guynn Sent: Thursday, July 10, 2008 1:43 PM To: Texas_Thyroid_Groups Subject: RE: Question for those that had thyroid problems.. and adrenal issues.. The range is very large. That is a problem. Most doctors are only trained to look for 's or Cushing's not the fatigue that is starting to happen with the adrenals. Mine was 13.4 and I had classic AF symptoms. My doctor blew it off. So I had to find another that would treat. I am now on 20 mg of HC. While doctor vary, those that recognize AF typically want you above 18 at the 8am draw. But they also want to look at the DHEA too. Again this is my experience!
