Dear Coral,

The errors you describe are typical ones that I see with even typical

children.

You may want to teach him the discrimination between the tens (10, 20, 30...)

both receptive and tact. I typically don't go through teaching each and every

number up to 100. After 19, it's just naming the " 10 " and adding the

following number. So, once you have the " 10s, " with some immediate prompts and

fading

across the " 10s " , he should learn to generalize the skill without having to

teach each number.
