Guest guest
Participants in the conference are invited to comtemplate the differences between Bauman and Kemper's findings and their speculations about those findings. A reader of the whole-text article will probably sense that Bauman and Kemper's rhetoric conveys that their speculations are indeed findings. Here's an url for an essay first presented into the maelstrom autism list at St s U in 1997. By then, several citations made clear that Bauman and Kemper's *speculations* about in-utero timing were not as valid as Bauman and Kemper had presumed in the 1980s and early 1990s. Guest guest
Awesome - ! Thanks for pointing this out... Folks should know the truth about folks that are " married to their theories " simply because the theories are " theirs... " Bauman finds herself squarely in this category. Guest guest
Parents of Autistic Children (POAC) of Massachusetts is proud to announce our annual conference May 14th at the Four Points Sheraton in Waltham, Massachusetts. Temple Grandin PhD & Margaret Bauman MD will be the featured speakers. Pediatric Speech and Language Pathologist Tamara Kaspar MS CCC/SLP will discuss how to shape speech production skills in children with autism. There will also be a presentation by Maureen Rubin and Caffrey from the Verbal Behavior Network entitled Verbal Behavior in the Classroom: An Overview. There will be vendors there displaying various items of interest including toys, books and much more! We will also be sponsoring a Three Day Workshop, Introduction to Verbal Behavior, presented by Dr J. Carbone Ed.D BCBA from June 10th - 12th at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA. POAC provides scholarships for college students to attend workshops that we sponsor. Students must be enrolled full time and major in special education or a related field and they must fill out the online form at www.poac.net/PipelineForm.htm Please visit our website for more information at www.poac.net/ma Also visit www.poac.net/play to learn more about our original pop opera, Day After Day. It shows the everyday lives of the families of three children with autism, each with a very different case. " Day After Day " is a serious production. It is so good, that POAC has committed to taking it to an off-Broadway theater in Manhattan. Tentative dates have been set for this July in Massachusetts. Thank you very much, s President POAC of Massachusetts (Parents of Autistic Children) Malden, MA 781.475.2762 http://www.poac.net/ma kmrichards@...
