Guest guest
I recently started doing this with a child who has not been grasping addition. However before purchasing the entire package just make the problems yourself. All I did was hand write one problem at a time: example: " We are going to add 4 (spell four as you write it) + (spell plus) 5 (spell five) = (spell equals) " when you are writing each number also draw the dots on each number and verbally count them as you draw them. Do the problem with the child or if your child can count have them say the problem and then count the dot to find the answer. I am also trained in the RPM method, so I used aspects from it to get it started (the spelling of each component as I say it, doing small parts then leading to larger ones) and within a week this child was doing an enitre sheet of touch math addition. Any questions, feel free to ask, and thanks for the link! Lee Ann [ ] TouchMath > > Hi > > Anyone out there use TouchMath for their childen? Guest guest
I have used it with great success. I did have the beginner set but I didn't use most of the materials. I mostly made my own based on the base skills needed to be successful with the procedures. I also made sure that the students were fluent with the base skills... number recognition, counting, and pointing/touching the correct places on the numbers. Sincerely, e Quinby, M.Ed.
