Guest guest
Penny and group, An ordinary notebook with all Colin's phone numbers--all of mine, home and cell and his dad's pager instructions written in permanent marker--is what I have used for years in elementary school and now in middle school. I also created a binder full of information about Colin that includes all his signs and directions for operating and programming his communication devices. It includes tips on how to handle problem behaviors and recent medical reports and a complete copy of his IEP. This is a huge binder--the biggest D-ring binder that Staples carries. It is tabbed so that the sections are easy to find even on a bad day. Every August I update it. I left room on most pages for staff comments. His sixth grade special education teacher also created a condensed version that she gives to substitute teachers and aides. ,Colin P's mom [ ] school communication log This year will be the first year Kenzie goes to school all day. It will also be the first year I haven't driven 65 miles to pick him up everyday, which will be nice. However, because I won't be picking him up I won't be seeing the teacher in person everyday. I need some ideas for a really good but user friendly communication log for his teacher and I. We have also talked about taking polaroids so I can talk about his day with him. Polaroids are really expensive so there probably won't be a lot of that. Anyhow I would love some ideas that have worked for all of you. Thanks for your help.
