Is it Dr. Carl Sundberg who is a professor in mathematics, or Dr. Mark Sundberg? I am not familiar with Dr. Carl Sundberg. Are these two individuals one in the same? Thank you in advance. The behavioral approach is based on B.F.Skinner's analysis of verbal behavior and the research and clinical application by Jack , Mark Sundberg, Partington, Vince Carbone, Greevy, and others. This workshop is intended for: Parents Special Education Teachers Speech and Language Pathologists Behavior Analysts In-home Trainers Students Direct Care Staff School Administrators The Workshop Presenter will cover topics which include: Capitalizing on the child's motivation to keep learning fun Creating a language-based environment Assessing the child's primary language deficits and needs Determining if and what type of augmentative communication system is necessary (e.g., PECS, sign language) Teaching new skills using discrete trials Conducting training in the natural environment Using prompting, fading and shaping techniques to bring about new behaviors Teaching beginning skills Teaching advanced skills Data collection systems Session management The workshop will consist of lecture and video presentations. Dr. Carl Sundberg received his Ph.D., in Applied Behavior Analysis from Western Michigan University. He has over 20 years experience working with special populations and has taught behavior analysis at the university level for 7 years. He has presented workshop sessions at conferences as well as 1 and 2 day workshops. His clinical expertise is in the area of functional assessment and the implementation of teaching programs with special emphasis on the teaching of verbal behavior to children. He is currently providing consultation services to several schools, organizations, and families implementing verbal behavior programs for children with autism in home and school settings throughout the United States. Cost: $150 per participant which includes a copy of " Teaching Language to Children with Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities " , Sundberg and Partington(a $43.00 value). Buffet lunch and break sessions are included.
