Guest guest
hi,,i , thought they can go to school, until they age out at age 21 ? " M. But please do post replies to the list as well so we all know of any resources/help for this parent and this question. Sincerely, M. Guppy Please reply to: Bill.Amundsen@... I have 2 boys: 18 / Asperger's and 15 / PDD-NOS. Both are pretty high functioning with support from me and his mother who is a strong advocate and a Godsend. They were diagnosed at ages 6 and 3 respectively... Here's what I hope you can help with: My 18 year old will be graduating high school in May and the plan is not clear, but we will be losing the support of the school system and would like to know if there is a networking group for parents with adult children with Asperger's....preferably in the Katy / West Houston area, but that's not a requirement. We are also looking for a group of parents with PDD-NOS kids who are in high school so that we can prepare for his transition. M. Guppy Autism is a very silent world; but the potential in that world speaks volumes.... Texas Autism Advocacy: www.TexasAutismAdvocacy.org " There are some aspects of a person's life that we have no right to compromise. We cannot negotiate the size of an institution. No one should live in one. We cannot debate who should get an inclusive education. Everyone should. We cannot determine who does and who does not get the right to make their own choices and forge their own futures. All must. "
