PA Task Force Draft Report

Although many of you are not in PA, please read and comment on the draft

reports by this Friday. When the task force recommendations are formally

published they may have an impact on other state's policies.

Autism Task Force

OFFICIAL NOTICE:

The Subcommittee Draft Reports are on-line and available for Public Viewing

and Comment from Monday, June 14th through Friday, July 17th, 2004.

Estelle B. Richman, Secretary of the Department of Public Welfare for the

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, established the Autism Task Force in the

summer of 2003 to develop recommendations that will improve the

organization, financing, and delivery of services and treatment for people

living with autism in Pennsylvania. The goal of the Task Force is to define

a continuum of appropriate services for individuals with autism and their

families, at every age and level of ability.

Over the past eleven months, the members of the twelve subcommittees of the

Autism Task Force have worked very diligently on draft reports being

submitted to the public for review and comment. The draft reports will be

available on-line on the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (DPW)

website, located at http://www.dpw.state.pa.us <http://www.dpw.state.pa.us/>

.. Once the website is accessed and entered, please select the " Subcommittee

reports " option under the " Autism Task Force " left-hand keystone link to

connect with the reports. Please feel free to view any or all of the twelve

draft reports and submit your comments to us by selecting the " Send us your

comments " option and completing the form that appears on your screen.

can make arrangements to accommodate your viewing and commenting requests.
