Guest guest
Hi all, Our Director of Special Education position is currently open in Ann Arbor, MI. We do have some parental input into filling the job, through our local Parent Advisory Committee (of which I am a member). I am posting the job on these lists, because I think it would be wonderful to get someone with a behavioral background or certification, and possibly even some precision teaching or direction instruction experience -- you know, expertise in instructional methodologies backed up by research. Our prior director did start to take us in this direction, by introducing some ABA programs at the preschool level, and starting to look at DI and some other alternative curriculum for at-risk and special needs students, but now we need someone to continue and strengthen that work. Ann Arbor is a lovely college town about 40 miles west of Detroit, also fairly close to Chicago, Toronto, Cleveland, Columbus, Pittsburgh & Indianapolis (all about 4 hour drive or less). The cost of living is pretty reasonable too. Anyway, here is the job posting, and please contact me if you are interested or have any questions about Ann Arbor or the school system, etc. Barb Byers Ann Arbor MI babmay11@... ***************** Address to respond to: Ann Arbor Public Schools Human Resources Services Division 2555 South State Street Ann Arbor MI 48104-6175 Fax: 734-997-1046 Posting is on the Ann Arbor Public Schools website at: http://hrs.aaps.k12.mi.us/postprofall.html under " Director, Student Intervention and Support Services " POSTING #: P02-04-289 (REVISED) POSITION TITLE: Director, Student Intervention and Support Services FTE: 1.0 POSITION LOCATION: Instructional Services SALARY: $98,420 - 100,135 REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Deputy Superintendent for Instructional Services MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1.
