Guest guest
I need some suggestions on teaching names. Our daughter has learned family (even the grandparents who don't come often). She is really struggling with the therapists names. For a long time she called them all " a Stacey " - the name of one of the therapists when we first started trying to teach this a year ago. She can pick everyone out receptively - but is not making the transfer to a tact. We have even tried using a sign as a prompt. I realize this is likely related to neurologic differences in the area of the brain that controls facial recognition - but, I still think this is important to teach. Any ideas or has anyone else struggled with this?
