Guest guest
Hi I am new to this list and I am the parent of a child with autism and am training to be a VB therapist. I am also a therapeutic riding instructor and one of my clients is a child with apraxia(well, dyspraxia, from what I am reading, since it is verbal) who also has Down Syndrome, and his mother is getting hysterical with me for trying to use VB with her child. I am pairing it with signs but she doesn't even have the child signing correctly. She lets him make up his own signs! Can anyone show me any research showing that VB will work with a child with dyspraxia?? I really feel like it will, if I can get his mother to stay out of the riding arena! Help??
