Guest guest
hi Carol , welcome to the group. I've been on this list since 11/99 when I was diagnosed and it's really helped me. When first ill, I was on disability about two months, then I worked part-time about two months, then eventually I was able to return back to full-time. I'm still working full-time and it's really not as difficult as I thought it would be, even thought I do tire alot easier. I'm still on Imuran 150 mg a day, but have been weaned off of the dreaded Prednisone. I've recently starting taking a kick boxing class twice a week. At first I thought I would absolutely die because I was so deconditioned, but after a few classes I'm alittle better and feel like I'm regaining some strength. I know I'll never be as strong as I was, but I'm glad that I've regained alittle. About the diet, my doc suggested lots of green leafy vegetables. They're supposed to be good for the liver. Well, take care, in LA

I hope and pray that his surgery goes well. And that you will be able to Exhale. love hugs & blessings Dee .. .. >>> Dee We thank you for your prayers and concern. Surgery is scheduled for Thursday, but Charlie may decide to postpone as the survival rate ain't so different. Big decisions for a developmentally disabled person to make. But it is his life and his body. All I can do is provide options and support...... etc. and 'woman' the MomMobile. These days it's a 1989 station wagon with a CharlieNest in the back as he's too weak to travel much distance sitting up. But, the good news remains.... seizure free since December... through surgery on 30 June and without Lamictal 30 hours post surgery. mjh http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/
Guest guest
Dear , very interesting about this meeting re PCTs and your suggestion about senior nurses gettign together to provide. I have been wondering about an acadmic department doing something similar. In addition to providing service it would also have a very strong educational feel. Could be developed around a community preventive model. Those of you who get HSJ will have seen the ad towards the end for providers of GP services in 2 PCTs in NE London (i.e. local to where I am) and else where in the country. Does anyone what to pursue the idea of developing a provider model? Ros p.s. re the breast feeding enquiry - you might like to look at the York University web site and the Centre led by Renfrew which is a source of information on such developments Digest Number 1567
Guest guest
I agree too but not sure how, otherwise it will be out of the hands of anyone but medics and the health promotion role will be lost .. Ann Digest Number 1567
