Guest guest
Kenzie started his third year at this school. The first two have been prep for first grade. Kenzie is 8 years old but functions at about a two year old. This is the first year he has gone all day. He gets to school at 7:45 but school doesn't really start until shortly after 8am. He gets on the bus at 3:30pm. Today I got a break down of his schedule. NOT including recess, lunch and snack times he has 2 hours 45 minutes of " down time " . In the " down time " it also includes Wilbarger brushing, clean up and bathroom time. Through the day that I didn't include in " down time " he has recess, snack, lunch, PE (although there is lot's of learning during this time) and music. I counted 3 hours and five minutes of what is considered table work, work at Kenzie's desk, math, writing, PE and music. Does this sound right for an almost 8 hour day at school? I really don't want to pick it apart and I've felt like they've been doing a good job but I guess I was somewhat dismayed at the small of amount of time he is actually working. Feed back please! Thanks so much. Penny
