Guest guest
The way I have done it is to use The Beckman Oral Motor Exercises...not sure of her first name but she is an SLP I think...but do it in an imitation like fashion.......Create a list of oral motor exercises (Imitation list with and without sounds, air etc). Make a rubric for data performance, ie) + = perfect, and check = ok, but still needs practice and minus = cannot demonstrate skill yet. Practice this like 10 times a day. The " Nuk " is what you are referring to, and I think you can buy them at stores selling baby tooth care products. I just ordered t's video, so I have not seen it yet. The key is practice and motivation~! It will come. Hope this helps! (nook etc. ?) We have a child who is not able to make specific sounds. The child is motivated and doing her best trial after trial but, still can not find the sounds. We want to make sure that we are doing all we can to help. If anyone has any Oral Motor Advice, tips, strategies and an email address where we can buy tools similar to the ones in the video, we would appreciate it.
