Joy

I experience the joy of Spirit that overcomes any circumstance.

There is a tremendous difference between feeling contented and knowing pure joy. I am content when everything is going reasonably well. My exuberant joy, however, surpasses any feeling of contentment.

Joy is within me no matter what circumstance life may bring my way. Knowing that conditions can change in an instant, I find joy in knowing that life is eternal.

I derive joy from daily times in the silence, during which I more fully realize my oneness with God. I discover joy in the beauty God has created around me: the rain's gentle patter, the sun's warmth and light, a flower's aroma, a child's unbridled laughter.

God's spirit is within me, within all people, and within every situation. This understanding fills me with joy no matter where I am or what I may be experiencing in the moment.

"Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth."--Psalm 100:1
