The 2nd Annual Long Island Autism Awareness Fair

Presented by NAA Long Island

Date: Saturday, April 16, 2005

Time: 9am-4pm

Place: Sports Plus on Rt. 347 in Lake Grove, New York

The CDC now estimates that the rate of autism in America is now 1 in 166.

This means thousands of individuals in Nassau and Suffolk counties are

affected by this bio-neurological disorder that has reached epidemic

proportions. Our goal for the annual fair is to bring everyone in the

autism community together: parents, educators, therapists, health care

professionals, politicians and especially, those with autism spectrum

disorder (ASD).

We believe it's important to bring forth varied ideas and information so

parents can make educated decisions for their child. It's also vital to

bring together all members of the autism community to network, publicize

services, share ideas and voice concerns.

Events include:

* Breakout sessions

* Video presentations

* Guest speakers

* Daycare facilities

* Scheduled Press Conference with local politicians

* Catered lunch

* Vendor tables

* Musical entertainment

* Raffles and prizes
