Guest guest
Sorry for the cross-post ABC of NC (in Winston-Salem, NC) is happy to announce that we now have scholarships for our center-based program! We hope to distribute these scholarships early in 2005 with children entering our center as soon as possible. If you wish to be considered as a recipient, you should complete the enclosed application and family financial statement. In addition, please attach a photocopy of a 2003 tax return for every member of your household who filed, including children, showing income and expenses reported to the Internal Revenue Service. Also attach copies of all applicable information about your child including evaluations, diagnoses and reviews. Please be assured that all information from the applications will be kept completely confidential within the committee except for disclosure to outside agencies to confirm accuracy. Please do not include a photo of your child. Please return the information package either by mail, postmarked by the deadline, or in person to the ABC of NC center by Monday, January 31, 2005 at 5 p.m. The center is located in Highland Presbyterian Church, 2380 Cloverdale Avenue, Winston-Salem, 27103. Our mailing address is 353 town Road, #188, Winston-Salem, NC 27104. We will not consider any late applications. Our Scholarship Committee will review the applications and will notify all recipients of their results by the end of February 2005. We will assess each child and their families individually and will consider funding both part-time and full-time center programs depending on age and functioning level. The committee will distribute funds for a determined period, giving time for families to apply for and obtain alternate funding. We reserve the right to review recipients at any time as their level of commitment and circumstances change and to modify or discontinue scholarship funding as deemed appropriate by the committee. If you are a current client, we cannot retroactively apply scholarship funds to your programs. We feel that it is important for families to understand the philosophy behind our aid policies. The committee will base decisions regarding funding for a current or prospective client on three factors; financial need, dedication of the parents to ABA programs and, to a lesser degree, the success potential of the child. ABC of NC does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, creed, sex, age or national origin. Any family with a child diagnosed with or determined at-risk for autism spectrum disorder may apply for the ABC of NC scholarship fund. Please note that we are licensed by the state to provide services to children with autism spectrum and related disorders and may not be able to serve children with additional diagnoses. Our license allows us to serve children age 12 and under so we cannot consider applicants over age 11. ABC of NC is a not-for-profit organization and our mission is to provide quality ABA services to as many children with autism as possible. We wish that there were enough funds for all the families who need them. Please be assured that we are working towards opening up channels of public funds that will make that goal possible. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. The best way to reach me is by e-mail: Felice.Brenner@....
