Guest guest
Opportunities to be trained in state-of-the-art verbal behavior techniques at no cost! Beaumont Hospital's HOPE Center (located in metro Detroit) offers a semester-long training program-CARE-for individuals interested in learning to implement behavioral interventions for young children diagnosed with autism. Training at CARE is based on the latest advances in Behavior Analysis, including Skinner's analysis of verbal behavior. Directed by Dr. Ivy Chong, a board certified behavior analyst, CARE provides hands-on training at the Bachelor's and Master's level. Trainees work with two children with differing levels of function in order to become familiar with a variety of curriculum and program areas. A heavy emphasis is placed on functional communication training and contriving situations to teach advanced mand behavior, skills which are not easily learned from textbooks or workshops. Techniques to facilitate peer social interactions are also targeted. These marketable skills enable trainees to receive numerous offers of employment from families to work in private early-intervention programs. In addition, when employment opportunities arise at Beaumont Hospital, we look first to hire our successful trainees. Supervised clinical training experience is also essential for individuals looking to apply to graduate school or preparing to sit for the BCBA or BCABA exam. Students enrolled in college may elect to receive credit for their participation and receive a $500 stipend. For parents running an in-home ABA program, this is a phenomenal opportunity for your team members to receive quality training at no cost. Your child will benefit when the individuals providing therapy are knowledgeable and skilled in verbal behavior techniques. Interested candidates must commit to either a morning or afternoon session (3.5 hours) Monday through Friday for a 15-week semester. To apply, contact Dr. Ivy Chong at 248-691-8143 or ichong@...
