Guest guest
This is exactly was TOPAA is about - bringing parents, attorneys and advocates together. And besides just connecting everyone - TOPAA looks for systemic issues and can/will take those issues to the SBOE, TEA and/or legislators to address and change as we can. For any of you that are not familiar with TOPAA the website is www.TOPAA.org <http://www.topaa.org/> . I strongly recommend that everyone join. Currently the membership dues are only $20 and are not required for those that may not be able to afford it. The amount of dues could be changing soon and be required so I would join now. Once joining you will have access to either the TOPAA Yahoo group and/or the TOPAA-AA which is specifically for attorneys and advocates. There is a wealth of information in these groups from the members. And the best part is that it is Texas specific since everyone knows we are like our own country with the differences in terminology and laws as compared to other states. Soon you will be able to sign up and use PayPal online. For know you can print out the membership form and mail it with your dues or I can send you the form in a Word document and then you can email it back to me and I will forward to those in charge of membership. Later then you can mail your dues in. TOPAA has many committees to include the Executive Committee and a Legislative Committee just to name a few. And if anyone has any questions let me know - I was on the Board of Directors and am now the Interim Executive Director. I really hope that you join. Amy Amy A. Sosa amy.sosa@...
