ABA/VB in FL & NY

A family that I work with is considering a move to either the Orlando

area of Florida or Syracuse, NY. They have lived in the Dallas/Ft.

Worth area of Texas for a number of years and are pleased with their

current services, public and private, including ABA/VB in their school

and a home ABA/VB program. They would like to obtain information

regarding the availability of ABA/VB in the public schools and the

availability of ABA/VB consultants/therapists in these two areas. This

is a difficult decision for them and any info. that might help them with

this decision would be greatly appreciated.

I have heard bad things about Florida as far as getting any ABA through

the schools. In fact, one of my friends recently moved from the Orlando

area to Pennsylvania to get better services.

Rochester NY is one of the best areas - another friend moved there from

Michigan, and she is pretty happy with the services there. They are

pretty ABA-friendly. I don't know specifically about VB though. I also

think Rhonda Miga is on this list, and she went to about 4 or 5

different places in the country before she got to Rochester, and I think

she is very satisfied here, so hopefully she will chime in.
