Moving beyond the discussion group for greater ABA awareness and Understanding?

Hello List-Mates:

I'm sensing that things aren't changing fast enough in my neck-of-the-

woods... when it comes to understanding and applying the principles

of ABA... and I suspect they may not be changing fast enough for you,

in yours, either, in getting mainstream society to come around to our

way of doing things and getting things done with ABA/NET.

Analyzing this situation carefully and trying various " social " things

to get through to the " politically " pre-conditioned... I have come to

the conclusion/realization?... (ABA inspired...!) that we must start

simpler, and earlier, on the learning curve, of baseline... (?) by

making the " politically " compromised... " more aware " of what we are

talking about, and doing, and trying to do... with respect to the

facts of " special-needs " as with ABA/NET.

I feel we should consider developing ABA " awareness associations " as

a pre-condition to everything else... in our communities... to bring

what this discussion group generally knows (more understands?...) to

all the people who are responsible for helping make a difference in

our lives, and should be more understanding of that, as with

ABA/NET.

I'm meeting graduates from schools of education and teachers

(everywhere!...) who don't even know what ABA/NET is (some vaguely or

casually recall it, in a " minor " way...) or they don't basically

understand what " distinguishes " it... and/or haven't done it yet...

I, by far and away... " almost entirely " meet people who

don't " understand " ABA/NET who should understand it. That's

unacceptable to me. Does anybody else feel that way about it?

ABA/NET (of the facts...) can only be properly and effectively

applied when we are properly " aware " of what it is (of the facts) and

how to do it (for the facts). But that's of the fundamental problem

I'm encountering with it, as of what we see today with " mainstream "

society and its political " opinions " ... Most of society still isn't

getting it!... the truth. (of Understanding.) An opinion is not

necessary nor even helpful where the facts are concerned!... Lives

are being lost on this.

This isn't just about, or for, " autism " awareness or " early " autism

treatment, either, which are both somewhat better represented now...

This is about what to do about it generally, and on!... and every bit

as important as identifying the problem in the first place... with

regard to optimizing the prospects of individual lives with autism

and special needs.

Has anybody started such an association, dedicated to ABA awareness,

per se... who would care to enlighten me on the results of their

findings/efforts... at organizing more intelligently for the

individual as for individual (and special) needs... or who would

consider organizing for such a purpose?

I'm still wondering... if true Individuals can

successfully " associate " in this respect... for what's best for

them/us... as Individuals. I'm not so sure about that

(honest " association " ...) from my research, here, in Niagara Falls

(Canada). Does " small " ABA work well somewhere else, as of a/your...

local community, or do we, perhaps, need to become a " larger "

constituency first, in this respect... for greater ABA awareness and

understanding of the (true) facts? ... I suspect as much...

Sincerely, and respectfully,

Mike
