Guest guest
Lamise, In my previous career as a Speech-Language Pathologist I treated many people with vocal cord polyps. Highly effective treatments included: -frequent small sips of water to hydrate the mucosa of the vocal cords (VCs) -limiting and/or reducing alcohol, tobacco and caffeine as they dry out the VCs cords -avoidance of whispering because it places strain on the VCs by keeping them in an open posture for prolonged periods of time -lip fluttering and humming at the same time as it encourages normal VC oscillation (also good as a warm-up for speakers and singers. This can be done several times a day. Important that voice is turned on, e.g., with a /k/ sound voice is off but with a /g/ sound voice is on. -steam inhalation, breathe in through the mouth - and of course vocal rest -Craniosacral therapy to relax the fascia and other tissues around the hyoid bone E.
