Guest guest
happy new year everyone just got this interesting case - 22 year old female...healthy, very hyper, happy, she is really sweet and so lively....developed a vocal polyp (2 cm by 2 cm) that is causing hoarness. This was caused by successive voice abuse, partying for the last few years ever since her trip to europe in 2005. surgeon wants to cut it out in july of 2008 after she is done with exams. she wants to avoid surgery..i am not sure she can but we are going to try. i have put her on voice rest and she has agreed to 3 days per week where she does not talk at all. i have encouraged her to stop going out to loud clubs and she has agreed to stay at home and hang out instead to get rid of or decrease this hoarse voice of hers. i have her seeing a vocal specialist. i have prescribed the following Wobenzym UNDAs 2, 5, 37, 312 fish oils Castor oil packs on throat with heat, on abdomen as well off gluten, wheat and dairy Calc flur 6X 1tbsp of organic honey mixed with 1tsp tumeric 5 x a day lots of warming foods warm herbal teas and lots of water i also have her doing hydrotherapy 1 x a day - hot and cold compresses any other suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated. this is my first case. has anyone ever treated vocal polyps successfully?? and do you think she can avoid the surgery? thank you in advance for your time and input Lamise Dr. Lamise Elkhalil BSc, ND Naturopathic Family Medicine Suite 301 - 828 West 8th Vancouver, BC 6048770504 Discover a magical Christmas destination.
