Guest guest
Having been a singer back east and having a similar presentation on a number of occasions it was vocal rest and time off that made a huge difference. So I am glad she is interested in changing some of her lifestyle habits. No caffeine or alcohol (green tea included). Many times after any caffeine I would be unable to speak. There are a number of things that I would now recommend which include licorice tea, speakeasy tea (available by JJ Pursell in Portland OR at the Herb Shoppe on Burnside -she can mail it to you), also the steam inhalation (as stated earlier), the phytolacca oil to the area (as Dr. Thom mentioned), Lung Clear cough drops (about $6 US for 20-25 cough drops). But the remedy that stands out to me is Argentum Metallicum- because it is a remedy affecting the performance organs (vocal chords incuded). A remedy with a central theme of power or control. Basically, where the person is losing their power, control or communication in some form or fashion due to overuse or overdoing. It is the " performer " remedy and for those who gain their living lecturing, talking, singing, teachers, etc. Hope this helps. Good luck!
