Guest guest
Our salaries are comprable with Kathy's $14.00 to 23.00. We are coded RN3 which is the same as a telemetry nurse or ER staff, even tho we are a level 1 (ha ha!!) I find that the benefits at our hospital leave something to be desired. Family health insurance is $145 for our share, they have their own insurance like a HMO, but it pays for little ($15/ov, $10 for RX (only up to $1000. (wholesale price) per person per year..that doesn't cover my flonase for 12 months..thank god for samples, $100/day for inpatient first5 days per visit, and we have no vision coverage other than a discount card or medical opthamology (you can have your cataracts out but no neweglassesw!!!) The only great benefit we have is shift diff.. 12% for pm's, 15 % 11-7 and RN's on 11-7 get an extra 20% premium pay. We also get 13%weekend and holiday diff. Guest guest
Speaking of salary, How is the market where you all are? It seems like the pendulum may be swinging back to more nurses needed. Five years ago a new grad had a hard time even finding a job. The nursing market was flooded. Now I see here that there are some positions open, but there are no signing bonuses like there were when I graduated (1988). In order to get on at L & D at most facilities around here you have to have 2 -5 years experience in med-surg or the like. Just curious, Anabel
Guest guest
Lots of openings here in Cincy. We hire new grads if they have done their role transition with us. The paper is full of healthcare adds every Sunday. Sign on bonuses were being offered at $3,000 for experienced OR nurses at a local hospital! Kathy H. Guest guest
A new grad at the facility I work at will make $17 something. Top of the range for RN's is $24.85. I don't know that much about the medical benefits (I get mine through my husband). As for raises the range is 0 - 5 % depending on your evaluation points. We are evaluated yearly. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Our is $15 something starting, 25 at the top of scale. We have a saying " View of the bay, half the pay " around here as most others int the state make considerably more. Differential for afternoons $.75 Differential for nights $2.00 Nights gets a longevity bonus for staying on nights, twice a year 0-5 yrs 500 5-10 yrs 1000, 10+ 2000 Tuition reimbursement up to 1000 yr Sick time/vacation time stinks! HMO (but a really good one owned by the docs in our area so everyone is in it and good care) but we pay about 30/pay for this. Dental - basic Vision - one time up front pay 401K, they do not match any of your contribution, they do put in about 300/yr, this is your pension! yuck if you dont contribute as well. Pharmaceuticals at 10% over cost. Family members (immediate) for non-covered insurance things, you pay only 20% of the bill. Longevity bonuses at 5 yrs,8 yrs, 10 yrs, 13 years and so on, either you go to a fancy recognition dinner on the " 5 " years or et a check ont he other years. (this is really nice - dinner has door prizes, dancing etc) There is a clinical ladder but it is very difficult to obtain a higher level and must be " recertified " every 6 months, lots of work so few go for it. Thats all I can think of right now. Jan
