The information source you cited may be respectable but I wouldn't call

them credible.

What

>is powering their logic that leads them to believe this to be true?

I can only come up with misinformed and confused.

I long ago came to the conclusion that the vast majority of people

who sell soaping supplies or paraphernalia are amazingly ignorant of

what they're doing.

It has been many years since I thought that Failor had any

credibility in anything scientific, and her cream soap book is the

worst offender yet.

Some essential oils DO have antimicrobial properties, but

unfortunately, to use them as such, they'd have to be at such high

concentrations as to make the products dangerous. However, too many

suppliers seem to wilfully ignore the conditional phrase in that

statement.

That's one of the reasons I first joined a cosmetic chemistry list -

I saw way too much crap out there coming from the mouths and off the

websites of people who didn't know what they were talking about.

They believe the statements they make because they want them to be

true, IMO...kind of a mental placebo effect. " If it's in print, it

must be true " sort of mentality.
