Guest guest
Gibran, In thinking about adaptive physiology could it be that the estrogen supplied by the oral contraception is protective against xeno- estrogens? I base this on something learned at a seminar this past weekend. While the presenter was talking about Hormone Replacement Therapy I think this concept can be applied to oral contraception: Given the estrogen saturation of the modern world, plastics and pesticides, starved estrogen receptors will morph to satisfy their hunger to have union with environmental estrogens. Once xeno- estrogens occupy those receptor sites they are unable to be broken down and hence over stimulate the proliferative responses to the receptors thus risking proliferative activity. Low level HRT using estriol, progesterone and minute amounts of estradiol 2%( sublingual)can saturate these receptors with easily degradable forms of estrogen and prevent the environmental saturation.
