Writing to Mansbridge of the National News Show

I am reposting this message for everyone and posting it on various autism news

groups. I have been made aware of some submissions, but I want to request that

everyone consider sending in something to Mansbridge. One of our New

Brunswick contacts has sent the following message to me, and I fully agree with

her. For the contacts on this list in other provinces, please post the below

info out to your provincial groups, let's get this one going strong

nationally!!!!!!!

: I wanted to let you know that I copied part of your latest newsgroup

mailing to the Facing Autism news group here, (the one from the Ottawa father

who suggested we write to Mansbridge). At least five people (including

me) have sent e-mails already. We are attempting to galvanize our community to

send more. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could get 500 e-mails sent? That

would probably be more than any other group and would at least warrant one

question from a CBC reporter at the all ministers' press conference. I know a

local MP (Andy ) is attempting to get together a national autism policy so

this may very well be a platform for all of us. Please repost that notice so

more people can send letters. This is a great opportunity for our issue to

reach the national stage, don't you think?

Yesterday on the CBC National evening news Mansbridge indicated that

the CBC would like to hear from Canadians about their health concerns before

the coming Health Care summit of the Premiers in Ottawa next month. He

suggested that Canadians who were interested should send their comments to

" national@... "

Below is my submission. I hope that the autism community will bombard the

CBC with emails about autism. Any chance that you might post such a

recommendation on your bulletin board and try to at least encourage the

activists in our community to send in a message?
