Guest guest
Hello group and DT, I've been transferred the care of a 47 yo woman with a history of mild hypoactive thyroid accompanied by on and off synthroid use as well as active IBS. Her temperament is overall high strung, kind of cancer miasm. She'd done a host of general and nervous system undas with her previous ND as well as BTGs. We've done more GI undas and AOR's T100 which she was having good results with. A few months ago however, her husband sprayed her house with 3 types of flea repellents. He particularly dowsed the bed, closet of clothes etc. Both she and her husband experienced the sensations of formication and paraethesia but his went away after a day or two. She also developed a rash over the top of her chest, hot and red and prickly. Since then she continues to have the formication/paraesthesias and rash (which is transient). The only times the symptoms are alleviated are when she's relaxed, either in the bath or when we do a guided meditation with acupuncture. Her MD and allergist have told her it's not a reaction and took her off the T100 2mos ago to no avail. However, I've found the MSDS for the products and one of the contents in all the sprays causes exactly her symptoms. (Pyrethroids is the chemical name.) We've done the 2,20, 243 set with Metagenics' Advaclear and are now on the 9,22 and 1000 due to her poor sleep lately with EFAs. All of the other common ddxs have been ruled out. Any experiences with this sort of thing out there? Thanks for your help, Cincurak, ND Toronto, Ontario Canada
Guest guest
hi Jen how are you? i would do a thorough cleanse...cleanse cleanse...u name it bring it back to the basics: hydro in the shower - alt hot and cold peat baths *** key castor oil packs every night IR saunas - 2x week for 6 weeks IV vitamin C dry skin brushing sitz baths lymphatic drainage - like lymphadrial - cream and topical on all lymph nodes and even a couple of colon hydros lots of hmf lots of fluids...lemon water...no gluten, no wheat...no dairy...remove all the toxins...no plastics, no microwaves etc use a lot of UNDA 48 and 258 (2-3 rounds). i would also do heel's matrix cleaners too..i sometimes alternate between both...just get stuff out. she needs to air out her house. remove all those ridiculous toxins...fresh air, fresh plants (i have a list at the office...i will email them to you..there are good and bad plants...get in some fresh oxygenation)..remove all those glad plug ins stuff...got to clear the toxins from her gut...there is a direct correlation between brain health and gut health...if the gut is sick, it will not supply appropriate nutrients to our brain. repeat the adaclear or ultra clear a couple of times... i have had good success with the ant remedy (from helios, cant recall the name now...not in my office today) for formication like pains...try 30 CH dose...repeat once and see what happens. dont repeat often. hope this helps keep us posted Lamise Dr. Lamise Elkhalil BSc, ND Naturopathic Family Medicine Suite 301 - 828 West 8th Vancouver, BC 6048770504 To: From: jenc_nd@...Date: Mon, 25 Feb 2008 18:47:28 +0000Subject: Q- toxic reaction - ongoing formication Hello group and DT,I've been transferred the care of a 47 yo woman with a historyof mild hypoactive thyroid accompanied by on and off synthroid useas well as active IBS. Guest guest
Thanks Lamise. Good to hear from you! I agree with you and thanks for a few extra ideas and inspiring me. Because she was someone else's patient before (and has done the btgs), she's a little resistant to the basics, but you've made me feel better about rereminding her just how important they are to keep up. I did look into the ant remedy (formica rufa i think) and had been vascillating on whether or not to use it, perhaps I will now. Take care!
