Brazosport Memorial Hospital, by a Dr. . Don't know who all

was in the operating room besides him. Everything went well, so

far. The growth in his neck, which was the left side growth, ended

up being the size of a softball. Not a baseball, but a softball.

He has a very radical cut, but this doesn't take care of the c-spind

part at all, or other areas. The tissue is being examined to see if

there are other forms of thyroid cancer in there, but, of course,

the thyroid is always examined afterward no matter what. How he

didn't know that there was something in his neck around a couple of

yrs ago, I'll never understand. This will be followed by RAI, in

many weeks, along with many other things, which may also include

chemo. What M.D. did NOT say-----that in the scan they did

on him, tthere is metastices to bone, and literally in the skull

bone. Nothing is supposedly showing in the brain, but we'll see.

This is a half-egg sized one literally in the skull bone. My

daughter's info is sometimes sketchy and delayed, probably being as

she's on " automatic pilot " with all of this. At least she got a

leave of absence from work, so that she can cope somewhat with all

of it. I know that she is under tremendous stress.

,

My family and I will continue to pray for all of you. If your daughter feels at

any time that she

is not getting the information that she needs while her husband is in the

hospital, tell her to

go to the head nurse and ask for a patient advocate. One will be provided free

of charge, and

they are able to give her information even if the doctor is not available to

speak to her.
