Amy Fighting the fight for all our children's rights... _____ From: Chuck Noe Sent: Wednesday, May 14, 2008 10:23 AM Subject: Fw: UPDATED SIDE BY SIDE of Special Ed Rules Thanks to for sharing this. This is a useful, but long (300+ pages) resource. I had noticed that TEA has updated the Special Education Webpage twice in May, but had not been able to locate the changes. This is a major one. I did find that the Blindness or Visual Impairments page was created on May 9, 08. Also the TX School for the Blind link takes you to the their webpage which includes information on visual impairment in addition to information on the School for the Blind & Visually Impaired. Chuck Noe Education Specialist Partners Resource Network UPDATED SIDE BY SIDE I was glad to get this message: For those of you who frequently reference the education rules and regulations, a new " side-by-side " of federal, State, and TEA rules are available. This is like the versions that were available years ago, before the new IDEA. A great resource!!! And it is accessible. (Make sure you are viewing the April 2008 version.) Use the " Legal Framework " link on the ESC18 homepage. <http://framework.esc18.net/> http://framework.esc18.net/ Knott PARTNERS RESOURCE NETWORK PEN PROJECT REGION COORDINATOR Toll Free: www.partnerstx.org <http://www.partnerstx.org/>
