New Member looking for Doc

Hi everyone, real quick intro. Name is Laurie, I have Graves Disease

and Im am from San .

I am on my 3rd endo. Endo #1 overmedicated me and I ended up

dangerously hypo, I think he based it on my TSH. I was on 20mg (down

from 40, down from 60) daily when I was seriously hypO so I took

myself off of all meds and a week later put myself on 5mg and found

endo#2. He was/is an idiot, he may know his stuff, I didnt stick

around long enough to find out he was one of the rudest people Ive

ever met....I guess he forgot to be nice to his boss (me), so I fired

him. Now I am on Endo #3 who is very nice but he like Endo #2 wants

to treat my Graves Thyroid condition by RAI (Radioactive Iodine).

Well sorry I would like to keep my Thyroid, I find it a necessary

gland. Anyway I think he is humoring me by " allowing " me to stay on

the ATDs (Antithyroid drugs) for a year to see if I can achieve

remission. From my research its not having normal Free FT3's & 4's

its having next to undetectable antibodies that would put one into

remission.

If any of you in San know of a Doc preferably in the Med

Center area who will treat Graves Disease w/ATDs as opposed to

wanting to destroy my thyroid I would love to hear about him/her.
