Guest guest
I feel the same way. My husband and I would be paying $1,400 per month if it were not for LDN. It also works better and is less of a headache. I know some people simply do not have the money. But many of us could definitely fit it into our budgets. I don't think the argument of " do we really want to get these tests done " holds any water. We have been given a gift, an awesome gift. We have a responsibility to get the message out there for others who would benefit. Otherwise we are no better than the large pharmacies that we complain about just wanting to make money. We can't just shut the door on others with these ailments, just because we have our feet in the door already. We need to help others that would otherwise not know about it or trust it without being tested. Guest guest
I would request the members of this board post a message..when they have donated. It serves two purposes..to remind others that more work needs to be done and secondly, it recognizes/identifies the individuals who are making a sacrifice in some aspect of their life, so that even those selfless folks who only wish to receive, but not give may have a better life. The harsh reality of life is that we must take the initiative ourselves..the govt. will then support you. This truth is also becoming obvious to the Katrina victims. Having said that..I have made my donation..in excess of the amount requested. Guest guest
Everyone knows what they can and cannot do financially. This is not an attack that anyone should feel that they need to get defensive about. I have 2 in college. I know it is expensive, trust me I know. But for me and many others, I know we would also have to contend with $1,400 per month or what ever someone's co-pay would be and their time and incontinence to have to resort to the other methods that doctors currently advocate to help with symptoms for these problems. If you had told me last September that you had a medication that would bring my husband back to normal and keep him from going the possible rout of the wheelchair, I would have given up my house for that drug. Our wildest dreams came true and for only about $30/month. And I still have my house. We can all rationalize anything. I know that my family needs to cut back this year for many things, because my business has slowed down considerably and we know have 2 in college, and some other problems have come up too. But I told myself that I cannot turn my back on what was given to us as a miracle, and I can not turn my back on people that would do so much better on LDN but will not trust what their doctor won't prescribe. This money, be it, $200, $100 or $10 is tax deductible too. It was a gift to us, and we should not just receive the gift and turn our backs on others. Guest guest
My $200 check went out in the mail yesterday. I am thankful for LDN and it's potential to keep my husband with Parkinson's from suffering the normal PD progression. I am also thankful that we do have a good enough income that we can pay out of pocket for all the many supplements he is taking along with the LDN and PD meds and that we have enough that we can donate to a venture like this trial. I don't think he understands living on a very fixed income, as many with MS, myself included, do. When I say 'fixed', I mean just enough to get by. No extras. Also, many on this board aren't on LDN. They come for info, trying to make a decision. Of late, they get alot of quibbling over stuff that doesn't seem relevant. We need to stick to LDN info and experiences. If one has extra $$$ and wants to give to the cause, that's great, but don't try to guilt people into giving. Marcie

Guest guest
My thoughts, exactly. Not even any mention of what the research is. Is it with people, animals, petri dishes or something else? I don't like feeling shamed into blindly giving. Not much different than blidly following Doc's orders and taking the ABC drugs. > > >> It is easy to say ONLY $200 - but we need only $18000 for one year > > > of college... and just spent $1000 for the other 2 to start high > > > school...( public) ...I won't even mention insurance... and a trial > > > isn't even needed.... > > >> > > >> lg > > >> [low dose naltrexone] LDN fund status > > >> > > >> > > >> It appears that only 9 individuals have donated (apart from the > > >> organizers)..sorry state of affairs when we want something for > > > nothing. > > >> > > >> 200$ is not a huge sum if you consider the gift that you have > > > been > > >> given and the hard work (gratis)that the LDN organizers are > > > doing. > > >> > > >> I am sure the organizers will accept a smaller sum..but its > > > important > > >> that you share the moolah. ..A > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >>
Guest guest
Wow, Helping people to have this drug out there is a wonderful thing. Of course there are many ways to help and all are appreciated. It is a shame that you are taking things this way. But is true that we all rationalize things to some extent or another and the amount of money being requested is so much lower than what the drug has saved each most of us. No one is judging each individual here. May people thank god they have LDN because they cannot even really afford that. We all know this. But there are many of us that could help and do something in return for what it has given us. And there is no rationalization good enough to excuse away giving back where it will help a large mass of people in the future. If you want to turn this into something that it is not, then that is your choice. And if you feel bruised and don't wish to tune into the chat site anymore due to some of us asking that everyone consider doing the right thing then we must respect that. Guest guest
Perhaps it would be a good idea to get the info about the research out there once again. There were many mentions of it in the past. Someone put a lot of time and effort into putting this together and did give the info to the group as far as the details of the fund and what it will be used for and who is in charge, and what they would be doing etc. A poll was taken on this chat site to see if there would be enough of us to make it work. A lot of people responded on the site that they would be able to do this. Now only a handful of people seem to be responding. Guest guest
This site should never seek to judge people by what they do or don't do regarding any matter. The comments posted by Aegis are not a friendly attempt to motivate people to donate money to the LDN fund trust. What one person can afford (per Aegis: " Having said that..I have made my donation..in excess of the amount requested " ) versus another should not be subjected to judgment on this site. It is this very type of posting that scares people away from this site. --- Aletha Wittmann <Aletha@...> wrote: > Wow, > > Helping people to have this drug out there is a > wonderful thing.
