Guest guest
Hello All I would love some input on the following case: 29 y/o caucasian male ptc 2 months ago pmhx: d/c smoking (1 ppd for 8 yrs) 4 yrs ago, " health has declined since then " cc: his " condition " is a group of the following symptoms: recurrent h/a which seems to originate in sinuses, radiates to jaw and back teeth -the most intriguing piece is the role of WATER: with this condition he'll have high thirst, but when he drinks he will immediately urinate and the severity of the h/a increases; he can minimize the symptoms by not drinking any water -other (less bothersome) associated symptoms are burning in ears and chest, and sore neck and back -he never has the " condition " 2 days in a row, only 1 day duration; he will know on waking if he'll have it that day or not -there is a predictable crescendo/plateau/peak and descent to the symptoms - there was a period in his life when he took a large amt of Advil to prevent hang-overs, his own gut feeling is that this somehow contributed to the current condition -the frequency and severity of the condition had been increasing before he came to me -another ND had done bloodwork, all WNL except slightly depressed vit D levels, kid funx normal, blood sugar normal -no other practitioners have been able to give him a diagnosis -tends to have high level of anxiety; says his whole family is like that -digestion described as " nervous stomach " , if nervous will have loose stool, generally erratic (alt diarrh/constip), gas and bloating -minimal caffeine, etoh 1-3 drinks/night -low energy, poor sleep, doesn't exercise -of likely significance: SIDS @ age 4 months: turned blue and d/c breathing, mother revived with CPR O: short stature, pale skin, flushed cheeks; timid/anxious manner, no eye contact while discussing symptoms; Chinese Pulse: thin, slightly slippery A: Tubercular Miasm, need to work back to age 0-2 (KD); from Chinese Med perspective: KD qi deficiency (weak voice, dark eye circles, strange rxn to water, SIDS) with ST/SP imbalance (burning in chest, red cheeks, " nervous ST " ) P: Acupuncuture, COP, Undas # 2, 16, 34 (KD, male hormone, tubercular) AI diet, esp. d/c etoh, BTGs second round of Undas primarily for anxiety: 9,22,243 with Gammadyne Li The patient had a great initial response to tx: many days w/o the condition, a longer respite than he'd had ever. When he did get it the severity was less. However, as time went on it started to creep back in frequency. I feel he may be losing the faith he had after our first " successful " tx. He has told me that other txs have seemed to work initially but then not hold. Last visit I ordered a Lyme/Co-infection panel, he does have a history of tick bites. Am I missing some obvious auto-immune condition? I am considering #202 with Luesinum 30K, is this an appropriate use?
