Guest guest
When my son was small I wanted him to go to church because I had been a faithful churchgoer all along. The problem was that he was quite hyper and needed individual Christian education. My church proposed that a Psychiatrist who belonged in the congregation look at my son to see if they could teach him. That never happened and I didn't want to do that, anyway, so I had to leave the church. Finally I found a Lutheran church and a wonderful young lady studying for a special education degree who would teach my son individually. That worked beautifully. However, it was not until he calmed down as an adult that I would venture to take him to church. Today, at age 34, he enjoys church and especially likes the songs. He can follow along with the service in our prayer book because he can read. Comprehension is a problem. I just thought this might interest you all. I go to a small church and all of them have grown to understand his odd ways and accept him quite well. Martha
